Inspired by an immune-boosting salad recipe we developed, this gift box contains local, natural, hand-crafted gourmet foods that are not only delicious, but also support gut health and the immune system. Contains:

Sussex grass-fed beef bresaola 50g – naturally cured with sea salt, herbs, spices, hedgerow fruits and Sussex gin (additive-free) – a lean, high-protein meat that’s packed with zinc and B vitamins. Ours won a Great Taste Award in 2017. Perfect with the venison salad recipe above, or as a tasty snack.

Responsibly farmed oak smoked salmon 200g – from award-winning smokers, Springs (no antibiotics, growth hormones or synthetic pigmentation) – as well as being rich in heart-healthy Omega-3, salmon is a good source of vitamins B and E, as well as immune-boosting selenium.

Sage & almond pesto 180g – made with organically grown sage, add to salads, soups and starters for a bit of extra zing; stir into risotto at the end; top veg with it or add to pasta for a quick, easy, delicious and nutritious meal. Sage is a natural remedy for pain relief, protecting the body against oxidative stress, bacterial and virus infection. Almonds are rich in vitamins B and E, zinc and selenium. Selenium is an essential trace element that is vital for DNA synthesis, and protection from oxidative damage and infection. Almonds are a seed, not a nut, so this pesto is nut-free.

Virgin cold-pressed Kentish cobnut oil 250ml – this is no usual oil…. equate it to a vintage wine! Cobnuts are an ancient, natural and nutritious cultivated hazelnut, larger than the norm, traditionally grown in Kent. Prized by chefs; a supreme winner at the Great Taste Awards and eaten as an after-dinner delicacy by the Victorians, the oil is wonderfully light, cholesterol-free and packed with flavour, protein and vitamins B & E. Combine with cider vinegar and a smidgeon of honey to make a delicious, healthy, nutty dressing, or drizzle over dishes to elevate a meal.

Sussex cider vinegar 250ml – unpasteurised apple cider vinegar from artisans Bignose & Beardy containing ‘the mother’…. gut-healthy bacteria. It can improve digestion, support your immune system and relieve a cough.

Single source, unpasteurised wildflower honey 340g from The Sussex Bee – this small apiary in ancient woodland overlooks two wildflower meadows and creates a fantastic runny honey that’s delicious drizzled over yoghurt, porridge oats, or used to naturally sweeten salad dressings and bakes. Honey is naturally anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory.
